The Regulatory Standards (NRs) consist of obligations, rights, and duties to be fulfilled by employers and workers with the objective of ensuring safe and healthy work, preventing the occurrence of occupational diseases and work accidents.

Objective

They improve working conditions and the working environment.

The first regulatory standards were published by Ordinance MTb No. 3,214 of June 8, 1978. The remaining standards have been created over time, aiming to ensure the prevention of safety and health of workers in labor activities and specific economic sectors.

The drafting and revision of regulatory standards are carried out using the tripartite parity system, advocated by the International Labour Organization (ILO), through groups and commissions composed of representatives of government, employers, and workers.
